Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything from NASA and the Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of Space Tourism. Being the child of 2 NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the industry of space. She spent the last five years covering the Trump and Biden Space policies of the administration as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. In that time she covered the 2020 presidential campaign, the impeachment trial and two attempts to prevent the spread of coronavirus as well as two different administrations' initiatives. She also went on numerous journeys with the president and vice president, including a top secret trip to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the local news markets of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before becoming a part of the network. She won one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as the CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin, who is an experienced filmmaker, established Field Mouse Films, a firm that is specialized in documentary style films, for clients such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree of journalism at Boston University. She lives with her husband in Washington, D.C., and is the mother of a 3-year-old daughter.
